Picking Order...This will be our process...

We have had multiple requests for "first pick" (beginning even before the litter was on the ground).  I have explained the process we have chosen to each individual who has asked, but I thought it would save time in the future to just go ahead and post about it here as well.  We do not want to give any one single person the right to "first pick" because then everyone else who reserves a puppy would have to wait until the "first pick" person made his/her final decision before they could know for certain which of the puppies were truly available.  In the weeks ahead as you watch the puppies grow it's only natural to begin bonding to whichever one you hope will be yours.  It would be heartbreaking for someone to be certain for weeks exactly which puppy they wanted, only to have that one wind up being chosen at the last moment by the first-pick-person.  

Instead, we are taking reservations for GENDER.  We know we have six females and three males so we will only accept deposits on six females and three males.  When you submit the non-refundable $200 deposit you have to specify "female" or "male" before we will accept that deposit.  Once we have your deposit  you can choose your specific puppy as early as you like or wait as long as you need to, up until December 10th.  As of today, 10/27, we have puppies that have been reserved by gender, but no specific puppies have yet been chosen.  In other words right now any one who has reserved a puppy can choose their puppy from any of the puppies of the gender they specified when making their deposit!  All are still fair game!   (update below)

Once you have made the final decision on which specific puppy is yours, notify Monica Cochran (via Facebook Message or via text to FOUR 17-770-FOUR FOUR 91).  She will immediately call me and text every one who has a puppy of that gender reserved to let them know which puppy is no longer available to choose from...and within 24 hours, we will have the blog updated, as well, to state in capital letters "NOT AVAILABLE" on that puppy's "Age 1 week old" profile post and as well as any subsequent posts about that puppy.  Also, if you know what you want to name your puppy, we will relabel all of his/her posts with his/her name instead of just an alphabet letter.  And, of course we will begin calling him/her by name in our household.    (In case of two folks choosing the same pup the same day, it will go to whichever one texted or FB messaged Monica first based on the timestamp of the texts/messages.  I really do not anticipate things ever getting that close, though!)

Anyway, as of now, no one has yet made their final decision. (Update: Puppy H has been chosen.  The other 8 are still available to choose from.)  All the pups are absolutely adorable and picking really is HARD.  As they get older and more mobile, I will update this blog as often as I can with new pics and anything we observe about any particular pup--especially personality/temperament-wise.  I will try to even get some videos posted, hopefully!  I'm eager to get newer pictures up and anticipate doing so this Monday.  The pups have grown SO MUCH since the 1 week old photographs were taken and their coats are getting much fuller and fuzzier now!  They are BUTTERBALLS, I kid you not!!!

(Quick note on the picture... Jasper, one of our cats, has been intrigued with the puppies since they were born.  Lately he has taken to slipping over and laying with them.  He is ever so gentle with them and their vigilant mama, Snow, hasn't minded one bit.  We can't wait to see what Jasper thinks of them in the next few weeks after all their eyes are open and they begin running pell mell everywhere and, likely as not, outweigh Jasper!  He may not be as eager to hang with them, then!  LOL!)
